I love being apart of Maryville Music Academy! Jerry is the best coach! I was very intimidated when my wife signed me up but Jerry is such a down to earth kind of guy. We have become good friends through our sessions and I look forward to each and every week. The thing I enjoy most is that Jerry cares and is not hard on you in any way. He is very attentive to what you are looking for and helps you get to where you want to be. So glad my wife pushed me and signed me up! 😃

Jerry Martin in my opinion is the best tenor in southern gospel music. I have only been taking lessons for a few months. I feel like I have improved my voice, my stage presence, and my whole out look on my performance. My breath control is better than it ever has been. Jerry treats every student as an individual. My name is Rick Towe. I have served as a pastor for over 30 years. I have sung gospel music all my life. I stepped down from pastoring in 2018 and began pursuing a position as bass singer in a southern gospel quartet. After I began singing with Common Bond Quartet of Ashland, Ky, I knew I needed more instruction on how to better sing gospel music. Our group leader recommended our tenor singer and I enroll in the Maryville Music Academy, under renowned tenor singer Jerry Martin. I have to say that Jerry has helped me tremendously. He taught me better breathing techniques, and my tone and placement have become much better under his expert tutorage. He had listened to my singing and has helped to critique the way I sing and has made it much better that it was before! His approach is to find out what you are capable of and work hard to help you develop into the singer God meant you to be! I am 65 years old and have learned a great deal from Jerry. We are extremely happy to have found Jerry as a vocal coach for my daughter. It was hard to find someone to fit her needs to not only be able to help her develop her vocals but in addition teach her the recording side of the industry.
