MMA practice space program
Maryville Music Academy Student of the Year Award
Practice More. Earn Gems. Get Rewarded!
At Maryville Music Academy, we believe practice should feel like progress, not punishment. Our PracticeSpace Rewards Program gives students another reason to stay consistent, build strong practice habits, participate in academy activities, and celebrate the work they put into becoming better musicians.
Students can earn gems as they learn, save those gems, and redeem them for rewards ranging from fun prizes to music gear and even major instrument rewards.
The goal is simple: make practicing more motivating while helping students develop the daily habits that lead to real musical growth.
How PracticeSpace Helps Students
PracticeSpace allows instructors to give students clear assignments and goals between lessons. Instead of going home and wondering, “What am I supposed to practice this week?” students have a structured place to see what their instructor wants them working on.
As students complete and log their practice, they can earn gems and watch their progress grow.
Over time, this helps students:
Build stronger and more consistent daily practice habits
Stay focused on their instructor's weekly assignments
Take more ownership of their musical progress
Develop discipline and accountability
Stay motivated between lessons
Celebrate consistency, participation, and improvement
Work toward rewards they actually want
It turns practice into something students can see, track, and celebrate.
There Are More Ways to Earn
Practice is the foundation of the program, but it is not the only opportunity to earn gems.
Throughout the year, Maryville Music Academy may offer additional gem opportunities for students who participate in academy activities such as PracticeSpace challenges, group challenges, performances, recitals, special academy events, social activities, video-feedback opportunities, and other instructor-approved challenges.
We want to reward students not only for practicing, but also for getting involved, stepping outside their comfort zone, performing, supporting the academy community, and putting their musical skills into action.
Weekly Leaderboard Bonuses
Students can also compete for bonus gems through our weekly PracticeSpace leaderboard.
1st Place — 50 Bonus Gems
2nd Place — 30 Bonus Gems
3rd Place — 20 Bonus Gems
The leaderboard gives students a little friendly competition while recognizing those who are putting in consistent effort.
Save Your Gems or Spend Them
Students decide how they want to use the gems they earn.
They may redeem them for a smaller reward sooner, or they can keep saving toward one of our larger music-related rewards.
Our higher reward tiers are designed around the instruments our students actually study at MMA, including voice, piano, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, ukulele, banjo, dobro, fiddle, and mandolin.
Students can gradually earn useful equipment and gear that supports their musical journey.
PracticeSpace Program Rules
To keep the program fun and fair for everyone, students and parents should understand the following:
Practice must be honest. Students should only log practice they actually complete. PracticeSpace is meant to encourage good habits, not simply collect gems.
Follow your instructor's assignments. Your instructor determines what you should be practicing and may adjust assignments or practice goals as you progress.
Quality matters too. More minutes are not always better. Students should practice carefully and follow the techniques and instructions given during lessons.
Bonus gems must be earned. Challenge, performance, social-event, leaderboard, and special-event gems are awarded according to the requirements of that activity.
Participation opportunities may vary. Not every event or challenge will apply to every student or instrument.
Rewards are redeemed using the student's available gems. Students should decide whether they want to redeem now or continue saving toward a higher tier.
Tier 5 through Tier 11 rewards are ordered after redemption. These higher-value prizes are not kept in stock. Once a student redeems a reward, MMA will order the selected item.
Product availability may change. If an exact higher-tier prize is unavailable when it is redeemed, Maryville Music Academy may substitute an equal-or-better, instructor-approved item within the same instrument category and comparable reward level.
No self-teaching or “learn to play” packages are used as rewards. Our music prizes are meant to support the student's instruction and development at Maryville Music Academy.
MMA may update challenges, rewards, or prize selections as the program grows. This allows us to keep the program fresh, exciting, and sustainable for our students.
Parents: You Can Help Too
One of the best things parents can do is encourage consistency rather than perfection.
A student who practices a reasonable amount several days each week will usually benefit more than a student who waits until the night before their lesson and tries to complete everything at once.
Ask your student what they are working on. Celebrate streaks and milestones. Encourage them when practice feels difficult. And let the rewards be a fun bonus to the most important prize of all: becoming a stronger, more confident musician.
Want to Participate?
PracticeSpace participation should work together with each student's lesson plan.
Students and parents should speak with their MMA instructor about joining the PracticeSpace Rewards Program. Your instructor can help make sure your account is set up correctly, explain your assignments and practice goals, and show you how to begin earning gems.
Practice. Participate. Perform. Earn.
Every practice session moves you forward.
Every challenge is an opportunity.
Every performance builds confidence.
And every gem gets you a little closer to your next reward.
